Why We Chose Resident Realty

Todd Sherman |
In 2002, my wife and I decided to get our Real Estate Licenses and join a Keller Williams team. At the time we did this, I still had a very active law practice. I remember going through the training with Keller Williams and thinking, "how in the world am I going to build a Real Estate business trying to compete with all these other agents doing the same thing while I worked to bring my law practice to a close?" Shortly thereafter, I was introduced to Resident Realty and the business model simply made sense to me. I bought the licensing agreement for Texas and opened Resident Realty in Austin. My wife thought I had lost my mind and continued with Keller Williams. After evaluating my production as a "part-time" Realtor in 2003 against her production with Keller Williams, she moved her license to Resident Realty as well. In my second year in the business of Real Estate (2004), I personally made 6 figures in real estate while devoting about 50% of my time to my law practice. In 2005, I essentially closed my law practice and focused on building this business. I personally closed 66 transactions, over $16,400,000 in production and doubled my personal revenue. This does not include the production and revenue generated by the agents that have come on board with me in the last 14 months. I cannot be happier with the decision to open a Resident Realty office and the support I have been provided by Craig Plantz and the corporate office.

 Mason Bryant |
My name is Mason Bryant, and I'd like to tell you about my experience in the real estate business. Having spent 12 years in real estate in another state, I moved to Colorado in 2000. At that time I was in another business, and upon leaving that industry, I returned to real estate with Re/Max. Although I had success at RE/Max, I felt that the constant drain from the high overhead was keeping me from realizing the fruits of my labor. I am very independent and self motivated, and like working on my own. That's when I found a much better way to reduce my overhead, expose my business to more clients, and increase my net income, that was with Resident Realty.

I worked for Coldwell Banker for 5 years and enjoyed mild success.
Last spring as I was preparing for another season, I attended several classes about the future of real estate and how changes will affect my colleagues and me. During one of the sessions, again it was, "listings are good" advice. In addition, the direction was one of "make yourself different". However, as I looked around the hall there were about 600 other agents that looked a lot like me. I had been contacted by Resident Realty and after researching their program joined in May.
My best YEAR at Coldwell Banker I had 9 listings. Since I joined in May I have had 16 listings and I am much busier returning sign calls and talking to buyers. Resident Realty gives me a commission split that allows me to make more money and the technology and support to grow and manage my increasing number of listings.

I believe firmly that the real estate industry is ready for a change and I have dedicated my career to making that change happen by being consumer and technology focused.
I've got over twenty five years in upper management with the largest telecommunication and construction companies in the US. During this time I also leveraged real estate investment. I learned over these years how to avoid the pit falls of mortgages, over priced real estate brokerage firms and how to assess residential real estate.
I chose to become part of the Resident Realty family in January of 2003 because they offer more services and value than any other real estate company to the consumers.

 Justin Carr |
Craig, I really feel compelled to write an e-mail regarding my experience with your company. I became a licensed agent in October of 2006, and after much research and deliberation I started the New year by choosing to work with Resident Realty. I had concerns working as a new agent, but the overwhelming support you have provided has contirbuted greatly to my rapid success. I started working closely with Resident Realty in February and I am already currently listing 12 homes and working with 3 buyers. In under 4 months I feel like a competitive agent. I have a closing next month and more coming. My first deal was on a $500,000 home. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the business. Your company has provided me with the tools to be efficient as well successful. I have been able to grow my relationships and manage my business in way I didn't think was possible. I am confident that no other company in Colorado would have me up and running as quickly as Resident Realty. I feel blessed that our paths have crossed and I made the decison to come aboard. Thanks for having me as part of the team and as always, thank you again for the tremendous backbone you provide for myself and the clients.
--
Respectfully,
Justin J. Carr

 Jay Seier |
My name is Jay Seier. I moved to Fort Collins in Oct. '04. I've had my real estate license since January of 2004. I previously worked for Keller Williams in Denver.
Fort Collins/Loveland is a highly saturated market for agents. You need an edge to break into this market. I was fortunate enough to find that edge. I have been able to keep a consistent, 15 + listings for almost a year now and receive calls from 50 to 100 new prospects every month.
Through this program I have substantially increased my
activity, referrals, and most importantly my income. moreover this program has generated a consistent dependable monthly income, all while decreasing my overhead.

 Steve Stinnett |
My name is Steve Stinnett, after studying the Resident Realty business model and watching the Real Estate market closely for years I knew this company was on to something big. I signed up with the company but don't consider myself a sales person, I am a facilitator. It is rewarding helping people realize their dreams of home ownership, while I realize my dreams of financial success. The Resident Realty approach fits me perfectly; the listing program sells itself, no need for high pressure sales tactics because we are always the best deal. In this business you must have listings to survive. I consistently have 12 to 15 listings that in turn put me in touch with buyers. The industry is heading for a change; I wanted to be a part of the change by helping people, not selling people, which is exactly what Resident Realty is all about.
